A complete learning loop—not just a video call

One affordable monthly fee combines live instruction with the tools students need between explanations.

Live coach guidance

A human coach explains ideas, asks questions, observes play and corrects misunderstandings.

Exclusive software access

Students receive access to ITPA’s Xiangqi practice platform as part of the online class.

Real playing experience

Play timed matches with classmates or train against AI opponents at a suitable level.

Review and progress tools

Replay moves, revisit assigned positions and work through structured training material.

Inside a real online class

A typical session combines four kinds of work

The coach adjusts the balance to the class level and scheduled session length. Students move repeatedly between explanation, action and feedback.

About 30 minutes

Endgame workshop

Students solve assigned endgame positions while the coach checks technique, planning and completion.

10-15 minutes

Answer Now

Live questions check attention and understanding, giving the coach immediate response data.

10-15 minutes

Opening and model work

The class studies opening principles, notation and selected model sequences step by step.

Practical rounds

Student matches

Learners apply the lesson in approximately three to four games, with rounds adjusted to the available class time.

Students can continue practising with AI, endgames, model exercises and playback quizzes in the platform outside the live explanation.

Real weekly task plan

A syllabus built from specific, checkable assignments

This example from the week beginning 17 August 2026 shows how one class plan combines positions, questions, knowledge, models and assessment.

Endgame sequence

A defined set of endgame boards gives every student a concrete practice target.

  • Boards 2271-2298
  • Completion visible to the coach

Live Answer Now tasks

Students answer endgame and understanding questions during the teaching session.

  • Endgames 3448 and 3449
  • Three additional live questions

Opening knowledge

Knowledge material supports the board work with essential concepts and notation.

  • Opening basic principles
  • Recognising and reading notation

Models and assessment

Structured model positions lead into playback assessment and independent AI training.

  • Models 10100270 and 10100280
  • Playback assessment
  • AI training

Board numbers and weekly tasks change as the class progresses; this is one genuine syllabus example, not a fixed list for every week.

A practical learning cycle

Understand, play, review and improve

1. Understand

The coach introduces a rule, pattern, tactical idea or position in clear steps.

2. Practise

Students answer questions and work on guided exercises while the idea is still fresh.

3. Play

Classmates or AI opponents create real decisions, time pressure and unexpected responses.

4. Review

Replay and analysis reveal what worked, what was missed and what to practise next.

Human teaching remains central

Technology gives the coach more ways to teach

Visible participation

The coach can see students solving, answering and playing—not only whether they joined the call.

Practice matched to level

Beginners can learn foundations while developing players receive stronger positions and opponents.

Lessons based on real play

Student games and attempts provide practical material for explanation, correction and encouragement.
